This is to inform the general public that the PAMO University of Medical Sciences, Port Harcourt is recruitment 2021/2022 is ongoing for Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff, and hereby calls everyone with suitable qualifications to apply

A. TEACHING STAFF VACANCIES

i. University Librarian:

  • Candidate must possess a good first degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division, Master’s Degree and PhD in Library & Information Science or related fields from a recognized University with at least ten (10) years teaching and research experience in a University or comparable institution of higher learning.
  • Candidate must also present a strong proof of research with evidence of scholarly publications both in quantum and quality in reputable International and National Journals.
  • Candidate must be conversant with current trends in Information & Communication Technology and e-library.
  • Candidate must demonstrate good international experience for promoting international linkages with other libraries.
  • Additional qualifications and work experience as Medical Librarian will be an added advantage.

ii. Suitably qualified Professor, Reader/Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer and Lecturer I in the following specialist areas:

  • Obstetricss and Gynaecology
  • Paediatrics
  • Medicine
  • Surgery
  • Radiology
  • Ophthalmology
  • Otorhinolaryngology

QUALIFICATIONS

Professor:

  • Candidate must have been a Reader or Associate Professor for at least four (4) years and possess MBBS plus at least one of the following qualifications: FWACP, FNMCOG, FNMCP, FNMCS, FWACS or equivalent United States of America, United Kingdom or European qualifications with at least ten (10) years University teaching and research experience in the relevant discipline.
  •  A Ph.D degree in the area of specialty will be an added advantage.
  • Candidate must also have a good record of scholarly publications of at least twenty (20) Journals papers of which six (6) must be published off-shore plus four (4) refereed proceedings.
  • Candidate must have adequate administrative experience.
  • Qualifications in Medical Education will be an added advantage.

Associate Professor/Reader:

  • Candidate must have been a Senior Lecturer for at least four (4) years and possess MBBS plus at least one of the following

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • FWACP, FNMCOG, FNMCP, FNMCS, FWACS or equivalent United States of America, United Kingdom or European qualifications in relevant discipline with at least 8 years of experience in University teaching and research in relevant disciplines.
  • A Ph.D degree in the area of specialty will be an added advantage.
  • Candidate must also have a good record of scholarly publications of at least 13 journal papers of which at least 4 must be published offshore plus 4 refereed proceedings.
  • Administrative experience will be an added advantage.
  • Qualifications in Medical Education will be an added advantage.

Senior Lecturer:

Candidate must possess MBBS plus at least one of the following

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • FWACP, FNMCOG, FNMCP, FNMCS, FWACS or equivalent United States of America, United Kingdom or European qualifications in the relevant discipline with at least six (6) years in University teaching and research in the relevant areas.
  • A Ph.D degree in the area of specialty will be an added advantage.
  • Also, Candidate must have been a Lecturer 1 for at least three (3) years, with a good record of scholarly publications of at least eight (8) Journal papers, two (2) must be published off-shore or six (6) Journal papers of which at least two (2) must be published offshore plus four (4) refereed proceedings.
  • Qualifications in Medical Education will be an added advantage.

Lecturer I:

Candidate must possess MBBS plus at least one of the following

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • FWACP, FNMCOG, FNMCP, FNMCS, FWACS or equivalent United States of America, United Kingdom or European qualifications in the relevant discipline with at least five (5) years of teaching and research experience in the relevant areas in a University.
  • A Ph.D degree in the area of specialty will be an added advantage.
  • Candidate must have been a Lecturer II for at least three (3) years and possess a good record of scholarly publications of at least four (4) Journal papers or three (3) Journal papers plus two (2) refereed proceedings.
  • Qualifications in Medical Education will be an added advantage.

All candidates should have completed their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme or secured Letter of Exemption from same where applicable.

VACANCIES FOR NON-TEACHING STAFF

Deputy Registrar (CONPUSS 14)

  • Candidate must possess a good first degree in any of the disciplines of Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Arts or Humanities from a recognized University, plus at least 14 years post-qualification cognate experience.
  • A post graduate degree in relevant field will be an added advantage

Principal Assistant Registrar (CONPUSS 13)

  • Candidate must possess a good first degree in any of the disciplines of Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Arts or Humanities from a recognized University, plus at least 11 years post-qualification cognate experience.
  • A post graduate degree in relevant field will be an added advantage.

Senior Assistant Registrar I (CONPUSS 12)

  • Candidate must possess a good first degree in any of the disciplines of Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Arts or Humanities from a recognized University
  • At least 8 years post-qualification cognate experience.
  • A post graduate degree in relevant field will be an added advantage.

Administrative Assistant (CONPUSS 07)

  • Candidate must possess a good degree from a recognized University not below Second Class Lower Division in any of the disciplines of Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Arts or Humanities plus NYSC discharge letter or Exemption Certificate.

Confidential Secretary I (CONPUSS 07)

  • Candidate must possess a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Secretarial Studies, including a pass at 120 and 60 Words Per Minute in Shorthand and Typewriting respectively from a recognized Secretarial Institution.
  • At least three years post-qualification cognate experience.

Academic Planning Officer I (CONPUSS 08)

  • Candidate must possess a good degree from a recognized University not below Second Class Lower Division in any of the disciplines of Educational Planning, Educational Administration or Educational Management, Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, Actuarial Science and any other relevant field.
  • At least 3 years post qualification cognate experience.
  • Candidate must possess a Master’s degree in relevant discipline with at least one year cognate experience plus NYSC discharge letter or Exemption Certificate.

Academic Planning Officer II (CONPUSS 07)

  • Candidate must possess a good degree from a recognized University not below Second Class Lower Division in any of the disciplines of Educational Planning, Educational Administration or Educational Management, Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, Actuarial Science and any other relevant field from a recognized University
  • NYSC discharge letter or Exemption Certificate.

Procurement Officer (CONPUSS 07)

  • Candidate must possess a degree from a recognized University not below 2nd Class Lower Division in any of the disciplines of Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Marketing, Banking & Finance, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Architecture, Computer Science, Purchasing & Supply or a similar field.
  • Three (3) years experience as a Procurement Officer.
  • Candidate must have good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Purchasing software will be an advantage.
  • Applicants must also be registered with relevant Professional Bodies

Internal Auditor I (CONPUSS 08)

  • Candidate must possess a good Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting plus 3 years post qualification experience. Or a good B.Sc. degree or HND in Accounting plus membership of a recognized Professional Accounting body.
  • Master’s degree in Accounting plus at least 1 year post qualification experience.

Internal Auditor II (CONPUSS 07)

  • Candidate must possess a good Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting.
  • NYSC discharge letter or Exemption Certificate.

Accountant II (CONPUSS 07)

  • Candidate must possess a good degree from a recognized University not below Second Class Lower Division in Accounting.
  • NYSC discharge letter or Exemption Certificate.

Chief Science Laboratory Technologist (CONPUSS 13)

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) degree in Science Laboratory Technology or HND in Science Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution plus at least eleven (11) years post qualification cognate experience.
  • Candidate must be registered with National Institute of Science Laboratory Technology (NISLT). Areas of specialty must be in Hematology, Chemical Pathology and Medical Microbiology.
  • Candidate must also possess current practicing license.

Chief Medical Laboratory Scientist (CONPUSS 13)

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science degree or Certificate of Associate Member of the Medical Laboratory Science Council (AMLSN) plus
  • At least 11 years post qualification cognate experience. Candidate must also possess current practicing license.

Science Laboratory Technologist II (CONPUSS 07)

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) degree in Science Laboratory Technology or HND in Science Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution plus NYSC discharge letter or Exemption Certificate.
  • Candidate must be registered with National Institute of Science Laboratory Technology (NISLT) Areas of specialty must be in Haematology, Chemical Pathology and Medical Microbiology.
  • Candidate must also possess current practicing license

Science Laboratory Assistant I (CONPUSS 04)

  • Candidate must possess National Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology or a National Certificate Examination for Laboratory Assistant plus at least 4 years cognate experience.

Senior Library Officer II (CONPUSS 07)

  • Candidate must possess a good Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Library and Information Science
  • NYSC discharge letter or Exemption Certificate.

Library Assistant II (CONPUSS 02)

  • Candidate must possess at least 5 credits in WASC/GCE/NECO/ NABTEB certificate including English Language.
  • Evidence of Computer Literacy is an added Advantage

Public Relations Officer II (CONPUSS 07)

  • Candidate must possess a good degree from a recognized University not below Second Class Lower Division in Mass Communication, Journalism or any of the disciplines of Social Sciences.
  • NYSC discharge letter or Exemption Certificate

Laundry Attendant II (CONPUSS 02)

  • Candidate must possess Primary Six Certificate plus
  • apprenticeship in laundry and 2 years cognate experience.

Senior Driver (CONPUSS 03)

  • Candidate must possess Primary six Certificate and a valid Class E Drivers License
  • 3 years cognate experience.

Animal House Keeper Attendant (CONPUSS 02)

  • Candidate must possess at least 2 passes in WASC/GCE/NECO/ NABTEB

Assistant Craftsman/ Artisan II (Carpenter/ Plumber/ Electrician) (CONPUSS 02)

  • Candidate must possess Trade Test Grade 11.
  • At least 2 years cognate experience.

Office Assistant (CONPUSS 02)

  • Candidate must possess at least 5 credits in WASC/GCE/NECO/ NABTEB certificate including English Language.
  • Evidence of Computer Literacy is an added Advantage.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

Salaries and allowances are at enhanced levels. Other conditions of service are as contained in the Human Resource Policy Document of the University.

  4. All documents shall be addressed to The Registrar, PAMO University of Medical Sciences, Port Harcourt, Rivers State and shall bear the position applied for at the top left hand corner of the envelope.
